Kenneth Greene has been immersed in art and photography since the age of sixteen, beginning a creative journey that has remained a constant throughout his life. After receiving formal training at an art school in Baltimore, Maryland, he developed a distinctive abstract style defined by imaginative creatures, vibrant contrasts, unexpected shapes, and a sense of playful discovery.

His artistic practice is deeply connected to his more than four decades of work as a social worker, where he worked with individuals and families affected by domestic violence and abuse. In the midst of that challenging work, art became both a refuge and a form of release—a space where difficult realities could be transformed into color, imagination, and play.

That transformation remains central to Kenneth’s work today.

Working with acrylic paint alongside unconventional materials such as wood scraps, old toys, and cherished objects collected over decades, Kenneth creates layered works where memory and imagination meet. These found materials are not simply decorative elements; they carry histories of their own, giving each piece texture, individuality, and a connection to the passage of time.

Creatures and shifting forms emerge from abstraction like fragments of stories that have never been completely told.
